15th Jean Monnet Seminar
"The EU and Trust in the Online Environment"

The 15th session of the Dubrovnik Seminar will focus on the topic “The EU and Trust in the Online Environment”.
Paper proposals may cover a variety of areas focusing on the EU privacy and data protection law, including on the “right to be forgotten”, data retention, Safe Harbour transfers to the US, closed-circuit cameras and similar recent legal developments resulting from delicate balancing of privacy and data protection with the public interests, availability of information, security reasons for controlling data or the development of the digital economy.
The event consists of two parts - lectures by prominent EU law professors and members of
the Court of Justice of the EU and research presentations by PhD candidates and junior academics.
Organisers welcome researchers interested in presenting a paper dealing with the topic of the Seminar.
Candidates are invited to apply by submitting a paper proposal and a CV. Accepted candidates will be invited to publish their papers in the Croatian Yearbook of European Law & Policy.

submission of paper proposals (500 words max) and CVs: 31 January 2017
submission of papers by selected candidates: 15 April 2017
submission of papers for publication in CYELP: 1 June 2017
Grants
All authors of accepted papers are awarded a travel grant and covered accommodation. There is no need to submit any additional grant applications.
