On Tuesday, 1 October 2019 the University of Zagreb Faculty of Law hosted a group of students from the China University of Political Science and Law. Students Lin Sihan, Chen Shiyi, Wang Yixin and Lu Ruoyi were received by Commissioner for Students with Disabilities Professor Irena Majstorovic from the Department of Family Law, teamed up by international expert Sandra Belko Leović from the International Office.
The students visited the Faculty of Law on their study visit during which they conducted research into the possible application of the principles of solidarity, mutual respect and assistance from the new Croatian Family Law to Chinese legal framework for a project approved by the National University Student Innovation Programme in China.
Parts of Croatia's Family Law related to intergenerational solidarity, protecting older family members and their involvement in family activities represented some topics of particular interest to Chinese students since China has recently passed a new family law.
