we invite you to attend a series of guest lectures "Short seminar in media law" by Dr. Gergely Gosztonyi from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) Budapest. The lectures will be held on January 21, 22 and 23 from 11 am to 12.30 pm at Faculty of Law (Faculty Hall).

- Should I really speak freely? - Free speech in historical context
- Has been the media remain the same over the years? - From the age of books to television
- The history of censorship in the media
- The notion of media nowadays - Some problems of the regulation of social media

Lecturer Dr. Gergely Gosztonyi (Ph.D.) is a Hungarian lawyer and media researcher. Graduated in 2003 at the Faculty of Law, Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) Budapest, he is currently teaching at the same place. He obtained a Ph.D. in Media Law. His research fields include censorship, alternative media and the liability of intermediaries, among others. He studied sociology and political sciences for one year in Finland and media law for half a year in Denmark. Between 2000 and 2004, he was the office coordinator of the Hungarian Federation of Free Radios and between 2004 and 2006, he was the managing director of Civil Radio FM98, a community radio in Budapest. Between 2010 and 2017, he was the Head of the Rector's Cabinet of Eötvös Loránd University. He is a member of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA) and Community Media Forum Europe (CMFE). He has been the coach of the Hungarian Team for the yearly Monroe E. Price Media Law Moot Court Competition since 2015.
