On the same day (9 December 2022) when the Council of the EU will be voting on the expansion of the Schengen area to Croatia, Bulgaria, and Romania, the Faculty of Law in Zagreb will be hosting the 4th UNESCO Conference on ‘Schengen and European Borders’.
 
The conference will be held in hybrid format:
 
– in person (Ćirilometodska 4, lecture room VII) and
– on Zoom (link: https://lnkd.in/d-3fsHjW)
 
The conference will bring leading EU legal scholars who deal with the Schengen Borders Code, the EU external borders regime, rule of law and fundamental rights protection at the EU’s external borders, application of biometrics, algorithms, and artificial intelligence at the Schengen borders, and many other interesting issues.
